Turning Around Your School - The FEA Model
Fulfills NJ School Improvement Grant requirements. Helps schools turn around.
The FEA Turning Around Your School Model, which can also be funded via ARRA, Title I, and Title II School improvement grants and IDEA funds, assists school leaders in transforming their schools. It includes successful strategies and programs that produce both school and district reform for improved student achievement.
The model we follow begins with the development of a custom vision and mission created specifically for your school, moves through data analysis, the implementation of research-based instructional practices and leadership improvement methods, enlists the support of the board and stakeholders, and institutes a sustainability plan.
The model is shown below.
Critical components include a thorough review of your district’s mission vision, data analysis, goal setting and strategic planning for achievement and instruction, plans for obtaining local board support, and sustained monitoring of school, teacher, and student progress.
This is truly a transformational model.
As part of the program, FEA will
- Review and analyze district and school data;
- Coordinate the implementation of the model’s six steps;
- Ensure the sustainability of efforts through continuous monitoring and coaching
