Improving School Climate and Morale deals with the critical elements necessary for a positive school environment. A positive school climate and high morale among staff and students leads to more productive teachers and support staff, plus higher achievement levels for students.
Costs
$1,750 per day per trainer
$5 per person for materials and booklet (may be waived for NJPSA members)
Delivery System
Improving School Climate and Morale is a two day program with optional follow-up.
Key Components
The following key components are included in the training:
- A personality survey for all participants to understand and appreciate individual differences;
- A simple tool to measure the quality of staff morale and interactions;
- Teaching staff to work harmoniously through the use of the survey and role plays;
- Teaching a simple, but highly effective conflict resolution model to solve major conflicts and problems;
- Building effective teacher and teacher/administrator teams; and
- Showing ways to connect the school to parents and community.
Outcomes
STANDARDS COVERED:The design of this program meets the professional standards for teachers and school leaders, as well as 21st Century content and skills.
Resources
The program uses various school climate surveys, including the National Staff Development Council survey for school climate.
