Sharon McCarthy is President of Envision, Inc., a consulting firm that specializes in the areas of group dynamics, behavioral engineering, quality teaching, and effective leadership. Ms. McCarthy is an expert in the fields of neurolinguistics, brain theory, and personality styles. She is often called upon to intervene with the student population labeled struggling, resistant, difficult and ADD/ADHD.
In addition, Ms. McCarthy is a lead trainer with FEA/NJPSA and also trains extensively state-wide & nationally for health organizations, educational institutes, and businesses. Currently, Ms. McCarthy is involved in a special project in the area of neurofeedback, a promising technology for students experiencing behavioral problems and those with ADD. Participants have said they attended her workshops to learn how to transform children and have been transformed themselves!
Over the last two years, Ms. McCarthy’s Reflective Leadership Program, a widely-acclaimed practice based workshop, has been offered at NJPSA, NJEA, and school districts in and outside of New Jersey. This interactive workshop focuses on building and sustaining leadership capacity for aspiring leaders as well as experienced leaders.
Sharon is the author of two educational texts: Emergence, Convergence, and Discovery: A Pathway in Distributed Leadership, (FEA Publications), and Innovative Interventions for Today’s Exceptional Kids, (Rowman and Littlefield, publishers).
